CADCAM Educators Hub was started out of a love for using Autodesk software to open up a world of innovation for engineering students. Having both spent a few years working as teachers, we had seen the power of 'something' led education and how, when done right, can create and nurture high level engineers of the future.
Teaching not only allowed us to develop our technical skills on the software, but also gave us an opportunity to gain an understanding of how people learn, and how to maximise potential. Teaching at a high level led to us being recognised by Autodesk and given the opportunity to run training sessions for other schools, develop and run national competitions, then from this we realised we wanted to spread our knowledge beyond our own classrooms, and thus CADCAM Educators Hub was born.
At CADCAM our motto is by educators, for educators. We see this, not just as a catchy (and slightly cliche) slogan, but a mantra to run our company by.
Our mission is to provide educators with a hub for developing 'best practice' when using Autodesk software in their education journeys. We understand the stresses of teachers and the pressure of delivering a high quality education for the students. Therefore, we want to make this a platform for sharing resources, videos, training opportunities and everything else that will give other educators the best tools to develop their skills, and pass this on to the next generation of engineers.
Bio: Having graduated with a Master's degree in mechanical engineering I spent a number of years working in the automation control and robotics industry. However, I found that I had a passion for developing skills and made the change to become a teacher. Fast Forward 15 years and I am still as passionate as the day I started. I have been using Autdoesk products for 22 years, and having made the jump into Fusion 6 years ago I see it as the ideal tool to help the next generation of engineers to build the evolution.
Bio: After leaving school I got a job in care work, whilst in University studying Sport Science. From the care work I realised a love for helping others, and knew my career would be dedicated to this in one way or another. In the third year of my degree I specialised in Biomechanics, and had access to cutting edge facilities, cementing my excitement for using technology for education. Going into a career in teaching meant I could combine my passions, and since day 1 I have used Autodesk software as the key driver of advancing education.
Bio: Hi, I'm Mika, a former CUC6 (Studio School) student, where Fusion Educators Hub came to be! Before joining the school in 2019, I already had a passion for technology and computing in particular. I had delved into the basics of C++ beginning to explore, and applying it to game engines like Unity, but I quickly realised it wasn't the world for me. Meeting the new Engineering team, at the time, Dan and Andy promptly set up a journey which would see me grow and become passionate about the world of Engineering. Over 4 years, I gained a Certification, went on 4 diverse work experiences, did projects and challenges for many different companies, presented at expos and competed at WorldSkills. This journey centres around my initial exposure to Autodesk Fusion. It allowed me to gain a vital basic understanding of Engineering processes, pushing me to learn more specific software like Revit and CFD for particular projects. If you want a well-rounded introduction to Engineering learn Autodesk Fusion, and choose Fusion Educators Hub to help guide you on your journey!
Bio: Being passionate about various aspects of science and engineering, I began my journey at CUC6 (UTC School) with an initial focus on environmental sciences. However, I quickly discovered a love for engineering, particularly in the realm of transport vehicles—planes, trains, and automobiles. My skills in Autodesk Fusion grew rapidly, earning me Certified User status within a year, and I gained valuable experience working with BAC during two summer breaks, where I learnt class A 3D modelling techniques under seasoned automotive designers. Having graduated from the UTC school with a Level 3 Engineering Qualification with Merits, I'm excited to continue my journey as an apprentice at the Ford Motor Company, where I aim to contribute to the electrification of vehicles and further my passion for sustainable engineering. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share my expertise in Autodesk Fusion and help others develop their skills in this versatile software with Fusion Educators Hub.
